steak, chicken, or ravioliThis line and shape photo is of a fire. The wood of the fire is one of the stronger aspects of this photo because it creates a texture and diagonals. The lightest wood is the focal point. There is a contrast of light and dark in the image between the color of the logs. Fires always raise the interest level of a photograph because they hold meaning and create a sense of danger. Exposure is 1/500 sec, f-stop is 2.4, the picture is in black and white.

don't put lights on a palm treeThis photograph is from the painting with light section. It was taken with the help of the class swinging lights. The camera's shutter speed was set on 1.6 seconds and after about twenty attempts, we finally were successful. The glow sticks created a lot of streaks of light. but it also illuminated some of my face and others face, making me somewhat visible. This photo is also interesting because the lights is spread out everywhere, so without verbal explanation the viewer would not be able to figure out how the blue outline got there. A few faces and the lights are the only things in this photo, so both are in focus in the center of the foreground, and the rest of the image is just negative space.

straight outta my houseThis line and shape photo is of a my stair case with a light reflection from a window on the wall. The railings is repeated, as are the stairs themselves and the light that is coming though the window repeats in lines. The light through the window is the focal point, part of the rule of thirds, creates a distinct shape, and has a shadow-like reflection. There is a contrast of light and dark in the image between the sunlight coming from the window and reflecting off of the while stairs against the black of the stairs. The photo has a large depth of field with all of it in focus and the consideration of the rule of thirds. This picture has a mysterious tone.

colin i don't need your sassThis is a picture from the shutter speed assignment that were taken outside in front of the school one sunny morning. Colin and Mitchell jumped of a rock and "high-fived" while I took these three photos with the camera held on a tripod. This picture has a shutter speed of 1/1250. The foreground is colin and mitchell jumping. The background is the school and plants in front of it. The photo has a triumphal mood due to the fact that they are "high-fiving" . It raises the viewer's interest because it appears that the boys are frozen in the air.
